What does it cost me to start?
We have no start-up fee, no monthly fees, no annual renewal fee and no minimum booking requirements.
What is my commission split?
You will be paid 90% of the commissions received on bookings made by you
When and how will I be paid?
You will be paid every two (2) weeks. You can be paid by direct
deposit or by check. With each payment you will receive a statement
giving the clients name, invoice number, the gross commission received
from the supplier and the commission you earned.
Whose ARC number will I use?
You will use Carlson Millstream Travel’s ARC number.
What should I do with my ARC number?
You may voluntarily surrender your ARC number or put it on hold for 120
days while you evaluate the benefits of working with Carlson Millstream
Travel
Can I employ other agents to work with me?
Yes, you may employ as many sub-agents as you wish. Your sub-agents
must use your agent ID when booking reservations. Each time a payment
is made to you, you will receive a detailed report of all commissions
earned using your agent ID. It will be your responsibility to make the
appropriate payments to your sub-agents.
Do you charge service fees?
Yes, for those agents using one of our GDS systems we charge a service
fee of $7.00 for every airline ticket issued. This fee applies to
non-commission airline tickets only and covers the cost of providing
the GDS system to you.
Can I book airline tickets for my corporate accounts?
Yes, using one of our GDS systems you will have the ability to drive
your own tickets. The tickets will print out in our Findlay, Ohio
corporate offices and will be distributed according to your
instructions.
How will I receive supplier confirmations?
All confirmations will be forwarded to you as they are received from the supplier.
How long has your company been in business?
Millstream Travel has been in business since 1987 and has been acting as a host agency since 1999.
Will I require Errors & Omissions insurance?
You will be covered by Carlson Millstream Travel’s Errors &
Omissions blanket insurance policy on all bookings made using Carlson
Millstream Travel’s agency identification numbers.
Will I need to be bonded as a travel agent?
No, as long as you are booking under Carlson Millstream Travel’s agency number there is no need for you to be bonded.
How will you support me?
One of our experienced agents will be available to answer your
questions Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm EST.
Can you service my accounts while I am on vacation?
Yes, we will assist your clients while you are away from your office.
Simply advise your clients to contact us by phone or email while you
are unavailable. You may also have your phones forwarded to us.
How long does it take to get set-up and started?
Typically we can have you up and running within 5-7 days after receiving the signed agreement from you.
Can I transfer my current bookings to you?
Each supplier has a different procedure and you will need to contact
each of your suppliers for details. Generally, the supplier requires a
letter from the agency that the booking was originally made through
authorizing the transfer to Carlson Millstream Travel and a letter from
us accepting the transfer.
Do you offer IATAN and CLIA travel agent ID cards?
We offer IATAN cards to qualifying agents.
Do you offer ongoing training programs?
Yes, our “agent only” website is filled with training programs,
tutorials, user guides, etc. In addition, many of our preferred
suppliers offer online training programs designed specifically for
Carlson Millstream Travel’s Independent Contractors.
How will I be kept abreast of what is going on in our industry?
Our “agent only” website is updated daily to provide you with the
latest industry news, supplier specials, travel alerts and much, much
more.
